This residential garden in Mandeville Canyon includes a new pool and spa as well as over two acres of landscape. The land proved difficult to site a pool because of the many mature Sycamores and a continuously sloping terrain. The pool is balanced between cut and fill where one end is slightly retained into the hill with a garden wall, and the other prows out of the slope like a stone ship. One of the existing Sycamores arcs gracefully over the pool. The hardscape was kept to one side of the property and steps down the site as necessary to maintain a delicate relationship with the garden around it.
